Iowa newspapers focused on Clinton, Obama, Edwards

by WonkoKevin

Yesterday we discussed how the Des Moines Register was paying most attention to Obama, Dodd, Richardson, and McCain.  Today we take a look at who’s hot and who’s not with some other Iowa publications: Cedar Rapids Gazette, Iowa City Press Citizen, Ames Tribune, Iowa State Daily, The Daily Iowan, and SW Iowa News.  Over the last two weeks, here are the number of articles or opinion pieces naming eaching candidate:

1. Hillary Clinton, 5

2. Barack Obama, 4

2. John Edwards, 4

4. Bill Richardson, 3

4. Mike Huckabee, 3

4. Fred Thompson, 3

4. John McCain, 3

8. Rudy Giuliani, 2

8. Ron Paul, 2

10. Mitt Romney, 1

10. Chris Dodd, 1

10. Joe Biden, 1

It’s interesting to see that Dodd, who has gotten the second most attention in the Des Moines Register over last 2 weeks, doesn’t show similar results more broadly across the state.  The results from yesterday and today suggest Iowa strength for Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Huckabee, and McCain.
